We understand that conflicts can arise. If your schedule changes and you are no longer able to attend a performance, you may exchange your tickets for another performance of the same opera or musical online, by phone, or by mail/fax. (Fees apply)
Log in using the email address and password associated with your subscriber account.
Upon login, you will be directed to your My Upcoming Performances page. Click the “exchange or upgrade your seats” link found beneath each performance listed on your account. If you’ve never created an online account, please call us to activate yours. An email address is required.
2) PHONE: Call our Audience Services Department at 312-827-5600.
Please be prepared when making this call by having the tickets you wish to exchange in hand, alternate performance dates of the same operas in mind, and credit card information (if applicable).
Please note: Your call must be received at least 5 days prior to the date shown on your tickets. Short-notice exchanges may be possible by phone for an additional fee.
3) MAIL/FAX: Print and complete the Ticket Exchange Request Form in full. This form, along with your ticket(s) and exchange fee (if applicable), must be received in our office at least 5 days prior to the performance date shown on your ticket(s).
If mailing, kindly enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope with your request and mail to Lyric Opera of Chicago, Attn: Ticket Exchange, 20 N. Wacker Drive, Suite 840, Chicago, IL 60606.
If faxing, include a copy of your tickets and fax to: (312) 332-8120.
TICKET EXCHANGE DETAILS
SUBSCRIPTION TICKETS (including TRADEONE tickets) may only be exchanged for another performance of the same opera or musical.
The exchange fee is $4 per ticket for subscribers with series of 6 or fewer operas. With at least 5 days advance notice, there is no exchange fee for our 7 and 8-opera subscribers (A, B, C, D, E, MA). All exchange fees are waived for current Bravo Circle members.
We ask that subscribers please complete exchanges 5 days prior to the performance date shown on your tickets. Short-notice exchanges may be possible by phone for an additional fee. Call 312-827-5600.
SINGLE TICKETS may be exchanged for another performance of the same opera or musical up to one day in advance of your performance date. This service is only available by phone. Please call 312-827-5600. Fees apply.
In the event you exchange your subscription or single tickets into a lower price, we regret we cannot refund the difference. If you exchange from a weekday to a weekend (Friday evening, Saturday, Sunday) performance or into a higher price, you will be charged the difference based on the ticket prices.
In order to best complete your exchange, please try to have multiple options when exchanging. Ticket exchanges may not be possible in the case of sold out performances.
Exchanges may be delivered in person to the Audience Services Department (20 N. Wacker Drive, Suite 840, Chicago), however we cannot always provide your new exchange tickets at that time.
Special one-show-only event tickets (i.e. 60th Anniversary Concert, Lang Lang in Recital, The Magic Victrola, etc.) may not be exchanged.
