Kathleen Brauer

Violin

Kathleen Brauer made her solo debut with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra at the age of 15. She earned a Bachelor's degree with high honors in violin performance from the University of Michigan and a Master of Music from Yale University. She is a member of the first violin sections of Lyric Opera of Chicago and The Santa Fe Opera. Previous positions include the New Haven Symphony, and Assistant Concertmaster of Michigan Opera Theater in Detroit. She has performed with numerous chamber ensembles, including Rembrandt Chamber Players, Ensemble Modern (Frankfurt, Germany) Fulcrum Point New Music Project, and Pintele piano trio. She has appeared at the Aspen, Norfolk, Bowdoin, Hampden-Sydney, and Kolkata International music festivals, and is an annual guest at the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival. She is a member of the Chicago Philharmonic, and recently performed and gave master classes with a Chicago Philharmonic string quartet at the Academy of Music in Krakow. Ms. Brauer is an assistant concertmaster of Music of the Baroque, and has been a featured soloist in several recent seasons.
