Andrew L. W. Anderson
String Bass
Andy Anderson has been a member of the Lyric bass section since 2004 enjoys the lively Chicago music scene performing nearly 150 concerts every year and teaching over a dozen students of all levels each week. Andy also performs with the Grant Park Orchestra, the Chicago Philharmonic, and Music of the Baroque. He has performed with the Minnesota Orchestra, Detroit Symphony, Fort Worth Symphony, Columbus Symphony, American Ballet Theater, and New World Symphony. Andy has presented solo recitals at Wheaton College, radio broadcasts on WDCB Jazz, at the Chicago Cultural Center with the Chicago Bass Ensemble and in recital with Andrea Silvestrelli.
Andy enjoys teaching positions at the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University and The Wheaton Conservatory in addition to his private studio in Northwest Indiana.

Andy holds music degrees from the University of Michigan and Indiana University, and served as a doctoral teaching fellow at the University of North Texas. His teachers include Stuart Sankey, Lawrence Hurst, Jeff Bradetich, Larry Zgonc, Bill Clay, Steve Molina, and his father Dave Anderson.
Andy and his family live in Lowell, Indiana where they enjoy raising fruit and livestock on a small farm.
