Greg Sarchet
String Bass
Double bassist Greg Sarchet has had an array of musical experiences and training, from studying with his first teacher, jazz luminary Rufus Reid, to receiving his degrees from the Juilliard School, to hundreds of television/radio commercial recordings. His international exchange efforts have been recognized with two Chicago Artists International Program awards, which sent him to the Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Hungary, and Great Britain for performances, masterclasses, and archival research. "The entire nation can be proud of the remarkable artists that not only call Chicago their home, but also those that travel from all corners of the world to lend their talents to our amazing productions!"
Greg Sarchet plays a double bass attributed to Claude Pierray, Paris, dating from the mid-18th Century.
