Marina Rebeka

The Latvian soprano debuted her portrayal of Bizet’s Leïla in 2014 at the Zurich Opera House. Since her international breakthrough in Rossini’s Moïse et Pharaon at the 2009 Salzburg Festival, Rebeka has been a regular guest at the world’s most prestigious concert halls and opera houses, including the Metropolitan Opera, Carnegie Hall, La Scala, Covent Garden, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, the Bavarian State Opera, and the Vienna State Opera. This season marks her return to the Met as Bellini’s Norma, reprising Violetta/La traviata (Opéra National de Paris), her first Amelia/Simon Boccanegra (Vienna), and her debut Luisa Miller (Munich’s Münchner Rundfunkorchester). Rebeka is also active on the recital and concert stage, having performed at La Scala, Pesaro’s Rossini Opera Festival, the Rosenblatt Recital series in London, and Salzburg’s Großes Festspielhaus. Other career highlights include Juliet/Romeo and Juliet (Vienna), Marguerite/Faust (Latvian National Opera), Donna Anna/Don Giovanni (Vienna, Munich, Zurich), and Norma (Trieste’s Teatro Lirico Giuseppe Verdi). Rebeka appears on DVD as Mathilde/ Rossini’s Guillaume Tell (Bologna’s Teatro Comunale) and Violetta/La traviata (NDR Radiophilharmonie); on CD is her solo recital of Mozart arias. Last summer her latest solo CD Amor fatale – Rossini Arias with Marco Armiliato and the Münchner Rundfunkorchester was released.
