Elizabeth Hurley

Deputy General Director and Chief Advancement Officer

Elizabeth Hurley is the Deputy General Director and Chief Advancement Officer for Lyric Opera of Chicago. A nationally known arts administrator and fundraising professional, Hurley joined Lyric in 2018, bringing decades of leadership experience at some of the nation’s most significant arts organizations.

Before joining Lyric, Hurley served for five years as vice president for development and public affairs at The Juilliard School at Lincoln Center in New York City. Prior to Juilliard, she was vice president of museum development at The Art Institute of Chicago, executive director at the Grant Park Music Festival, and director of development at The Metropolitan Opera. For over 15 years, she held a number of progressively responsible leadership roles at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

Hurley holds a BA from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee where she serves on the Board of Trustees, and an MA from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, both in English Literature.
