Opera in the Neighborhoods: Frida Kahlo and the Bravest Girl in the World
This season's production, Frida Kahlo and the Bravest Girl in the World, is a story about facing your fears, learning new things, and the power of friendship. Based on the acclaimed book by author and illustrator Laurence Anholt, the production follows the real-life friendship of Marianna, a young girl living in the heart of Mexico City, and Frida, the famed artist. When Marianna plucks up her courage to go and meet Frida, a friendship blossoms between them. You’ll meet Frida’s husband, Diego Rivera, as well as a singing parrot, dog, and monkey — and you’ll even have the chance to participate in this charming musical journey!
While written for youth audiences, music and art lovers of all ages will enjoy this 35-minute opera. Admission is free. Please stay tuned for this year's schedule, details will roll out later this spring!
