“The color palette pretty much came from music. It’s pretty exciting for me as an artist to even comprehend that.”
Soprano Kateri Gormley who is featured as a 5th grade student searching for the meaning of home in Lyric's new opera for children, Earth to Kenzie, shared the following: It was very special to get to work with both our composer, Frances Pollock, and our librettist, Jessica Murphy Moo, at the very beginning of our rehearsal process. We were able to talk to them about their inspiration for the story and each of our characters, and to learn about the housing crisis that is currently happening throughout the country. All in all, this process has been incredibly rewarding.

We recently sat down with Bill and Rhoda Ann Miller, longtime subscribers and members of the Near North Chapter, as well as the Overture Society. Bill and Rhoda Ann started with single operas and condensed subscriptions, but in 1993 decided to become full season subscribers because according to Rhoda Ann, "it was simply too fabulous!" not to include everything.
