Music That Heals

Join Lyric Opera of Chicago for the launch of Music That Heals, a series designed to stimulate, calm, and evoke a sense of ease for participants using the power of sound (music) to repair, restore, recall, and heal our physical and physiological selves. The expression of music is scientifically proven to improve physical, mental, and emotional welfare. Through this series, Lyric will host meditation practitioners and sound healers as they provide programs for our audience focused on finding stillness, calmness, and centering peace.

The RESET

The RESET is a transformative sound healing experience by renowned artist Davin Youngs. This innovative event at the crossroads of wellness and music uses a blend of improvisational singing, live looping, sound healing instruments, and electronic beats to create a unique electro-acoustic sonic immersive state for its participants. Bring your yoga mat and let the sonic healing soothe you in a fresh and innovative use of the magnificent Art Deco Rice Grand Foyer at Lyric.

D-Compressed

Black chamber music collective string quartet D-Composed will present its music and meditation series, D-Compressed, as part of Lyric Opera’s Music That Heals series. This music & meditation experience creates a space for healing and reflection featuring the music of Black composers. Cherish Hicks of Beyond Wellness will provide meditative affirmations to create healing sound waves throughout the experience.
