After 36 years at Lyric — with 21 as music director and principal conductor— Sir Andrew Davis is a permanent fixture at the Lyric Opera House. He's spent countless hours with characters like Don Quichotte, Brünnhilde, and Figaro in rehearsal rooms and the orchestra pit. With twists and turns around every corner, it's easy to understand why Sir Andrew loves The Queen of Spades. The Tchaikovsky thriller was the first opera he conducted as Lyric's Music Director in 2001 and he returned to the podium in February 2020 to conduct this new-to-Chicago production by Richard Jones.
