What's In Store for Family Day!

Calling all Opera Explorers! Lyric Unlimited and Lyric’s Guild Board of Directors is proud to present the second annual Family Day, a fun-filled adventure behind the scenes at the Lyric Opera House. We are excited to share that for the second year in a row, Family Day at the Opera has reached capacity in advance and only limited walk-up tickets will be available at the door.

Doors open at 10:30am, and children will begin building their explorer essentials at craft tables, trying on costumes, and getting their face painted. These hands-on activities will be available all day. Feeling adventurous? At 11:00, live demonstrations will begin in the theater with stage combat presentations, dance classes, and acting and singing lessons from Lyric professionals. You can even join Lyric orchestra members beneath the stage in the orchestra pit and try your hand at being a conductor! Hear the powerful voices of opera singers with live performances on the mainstage at 12:00 and 1:30. Families can also take a break in the Quiet Room on the first floor or grab a bite to eat with concessions available during your visit. 

Specifically programmed for children aged 5-10, the whole family is in for a great day of fun throughout this open-house style event - we look forward to sharing it together!
