The 2023/24 Season will be Enrique Mazzola’s third as Music Director, but he will have a number of notable firsts. Opening the season is Mazzola’s first Wagner at Lyric, The Flying Dutchman. He will also conduct his first 21st century opera at Lyric, Blanchard’s Champion, his first Mozart at Lyric, the Requiem, and his first production of Verdi’s Aida in any opera house. Tamara Wilson returns
Soprano Tamara Wilson has one of the most powerful and versatile voices in the opera world, and we’re lucky enough to have her return this season to perform the role of Senta in Wagner’s The Flying Dutchman. Watch her perform “O nel fuggente nuvolo” from Attila.

Ryan Opera Center Final Auditions
Join us on Sunday, September 17 to watch more than 20 finalists representing the world’s finest emerging artists audition for a spot in the Patrick G. and Shirley W. Ryan Opera Center’s 2024/25 Ensemble. This is a unique opportunity to hear opera’s future stars and participate by voting for the Audience Favorite Award.
