AFTERNOON WITH A DIVA: The Magnificent Anna Netrebko Returns to Lyric

It’s magic time at Lyric, thanks to Anna Netrebko! The superstar Russian soprano will lavish her breathtaking voice on the Lyric audience in one of her rare recitals in America. Collaborating with the eminent Scottish pianist Malcolm Martineau and Lyric Opera Orchestra concertmaster Robert Hanford, Anna will appear at the Lyric Opera House on Sunday, December 2.

Whether you heard her at Lyric in her sensational 2013 debut in La bohème, or in one of her many Metropolitan Opera telecasts or broadcasts, or simply on CD or DVD, you’ll want to be here to savor her artistry once again. And if you’ve never heard Anna before, well, you can look forward to discovering one of the great voices and captivating artists of our time.

Anna will present an exceptionally varied program featuring beloved music by Debussy, Dvořák, Fauré, Leoncavallo, Offenbach, Rachmaninoff, Rimsky-Korsakov, Richard Strauss, and Tchaikovsky. You can expect all the music to give full rein to Anna’s thrilling vocalism and the charisma that has dazzled audiences from the Met, Covent Garden, and La Scala to the Vienna State Opera and St. Petersburg’s Mariinsky Theatre.
