Lyric Music & More: April 14
It’s hard to believe it’s been a month since many of us transitioned to offsite work environments and stay-at-home practices—how are you doing? We wish we could have this conversation with each of you, which is exactly why we’re reaching out with some music and musings to pass the time.
We’re all looking forward to that "one fine day" when we can be together again, so today, we bring you an extended clip of “Un bel di” from Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, performed by soprano Ana María Martínez earlier this season at Lyric. We’re also sharing a whimsical song from artists in our Ryan Opera Center at Home series, a high-velocity Patter Up interview with baritone Quinn Kelsey, opportunities to hear from Renée Fleming and Susan Graham…and introducing some very special members of the Lyric team. We wish you well today, and hope you enjoy the music and more.

Susan Graham’s “So Far Away”
Mezzo-soprano Susan Graham is a longtime Lyric favorite, and just seeing her on our screens is enough to brighten any day. In this time of physical distancing, Susan recently posted her Facebook video performance of Carole King’s “So Far Away.” We hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.
