Lyric Family Favorites: April 17
Our Friday emails are a special chance to connect with our Lyric subscriber and donor family. We know that this week, many of you join us in wishing we were together at the Lyric Opera House for the Ring cycle. We hope that you had the opportunity to enjoy some of the Ring online experience videos, articles, and more that we shared earlier this week, and that you’re finding time to listen to some glorious music to brighten up your days.
Today, we pay homage to the Ring with the famed “Ride of the Valkyries” from our 2017 production of Die Walküre, and share a Lyric Legends profile of magnificent French soprano Régine Crespin, a soul-nurturing performance of Rusalka’s “Song to the Moon,” and a fun game of spotting our music director. We wish you a great weekend!

A heavenly “Song to the Moon”
The talented artists of the Lyric Opera Orchestra and Chorus are continuing to bring music to our audiences during this hiatus, including this gorgeous rendition of “Song to the Moon” from Dvořák’s Rusalka, performed by Lyric Principal Harpist Marguerite Lynn Williams.
Puzzles, games, and more.
Can you spot Sir Andrew?
Since 1987, Sir Andrew Davis has conducted more than 670 opera performances at Lyric—so it stands to reason that you can never be sure where he’ll pop up! Enjoy “Spotting Sir Andrew” in some of our favorite productions!
When I hear music, I fear no danger. I am invulnerable. I see no foe. I am related to the earliest times, and to the latest.
