Sister Helen Prejean Featured at Chicago Humanities Festival
In collaboration with the Chicago Humanities Festival, Sister Helen Prejean returns to Chicago on Thursday, October 31 to discuss Dead Man Walking, the book and opera, with Chicago Sun-Times columnist Mary Mitchell. Sister Helen Prejean will talk about her time as a spiritual advisor to death row inmates, her 40-year career as an anti-death penalty advocate, and the creation of her newest book, River of Fire, which was released earlier this summer. The event will take place from 6-7:30pm at First United Methodist Church of Chicago (77 W Washington St.), and will feature live performances from the opera.
