Lyric in Concert A Wondrous Sound
Opera has long provided the soundtrack to our world, and Lyric invites you to join us for a program featuring some of the most thrilling overtures and favorite choral works in the entire repertoire. Celebrate the wondrous sound of opera through masterworks by Puccini, Rossini, Bizet, and more as performed by the talented artists of the Lyric Opera of Chicago Chorus and Orchestra. From the most rousing, life-affirming, and joyful of works, to the quiet, introspective beauty that only great music can provide, we’ll be guided through our program by Music Director Enrique Mazzola as he shares favorites — and some of your favorite composers’ more rarely performed works. You’ll even have the chance to play a starring role in creating the music yourself! Don’t miss this unique opportunity to enjoy a concert featuring the most anticipated moments in opera.
- Running Time: 2 hours, including 1 intermission
- Location: Lyric Opera House
Maestro Enrique Mazzola is generously sponsored by Alice & John Butler, H. Gael Neeson, Sylvia Neil & Daniel Fischel, the Robert and Penelope Steiner Family Foundation, and the Zell Family Foundation as members of the Enrique Circle.
