This series allows LYP members to choose from a selection of dates and build a personalized subscription package of three or more operas for $35* each. A minimum of three different opera titles is required to initiate a Medley subscription, and the same title may not appear more than once in a series.

*One-time $6 subscription fee not included.

Where will my Medley seats be located?

Medley subscribers are assigned to the best available seating within Main Floor and Balcony sections (our favorite seats for sound!) at the time of purchase. We cannot accommodate specific seating requests.

How do I purchase a Medley subscription series?

Once you join LYP you will receive a confirmation email with instructions on how to purchase your Medley subscription. Medley subscriptions can be purchased by calling Audience Services at 312-827-5600 at which time you will need to choose three or more productions and dates within the Medley Series. Once your subscription is booked you will receive your Print-At-Home tickets in your inbox within 1-3 days of purchase. You must purchase a Medley subscription to take advantage of the $35 Medley ticket price.

Can I bring my friends?

Yes! Medley subscribers may purchase up to two Medley subscriptions, and depending on their membership level, up to two or more additional tickets per season at the special $35 Medley price (see membership levels here).

How do “add-on tickets*” work?

LYP Patron and LYP Associate level members can add on two tickets to each of their Medley performances at the special $35 price. Tickets can only be added to performances and dates already in their Medley Series and are non-transferable.

How do “floating tickets*” work?

Depending on your membership level, LYP Medley subscribers can add up to six tickets to their Medley subscription for the whole season at the special $35 Medley price. Have 4 friends who want to see Turandot, but only 2 Ringheads? Use your floating tickets to stack your performances however you like! Tickets can only be added to performances and dates already in your Medley Series.
*Add-on and floating tickets are subject to availability and we will make every effort to seat additional tickets as close as possible to your current subscription seats.

May I exchange my Medley tickets?

Exchanges can be made by calling Audience Services at 312-827-5600Íž your new date must also be a valid LYP Medley series date of the same title. If exchanged fewer than 5 days in advance, fees will apply.

Contact Andrea Rubens, LYP Coordinator, at 312-827-5656 or lyricyp@lyricopera.org to find out how you can join our mission to foster the next generation of Lyric supporters! Event sponsorships begin at $350 and receive benefits aligned with the Lyric Opera giving levels.

Every Dollar Has an Impact

Lyric Opera of Chicago is the crown jewel of Chicago's cultural treasures because of the support of our donors. As a nonprofit performing arts company, we simply could not produce opera at the high level of excellence that you have come to expect from Lyric without charitable contributions from our donors. Every contribution made by a Lyric Young Professional member and all the net proceeds from our events directly support The Patrick G. and Shirley W. Ryan Opera Center at Lyric Opera of Chicago.

Lyric Young Professionals are striving to make a greater impact in the 2017/18 season, and your support is more important now than ever.

Here are the ways you can expand your support for Lyric:

Corporate Giving

Corporate partnerships are critical to Lyric's success. They not only help Lyric meet its financial goals, but also bring Lyric into the greater business community, reaching a wide audience through marketing and partnership promotion. Our business partners support Lyric for a variety of reasons: unique client entertaining opportunities, an association with an esteemed Chicago non-profit, alignment with Lyric's education and community engagement programs, and many more.

You can play a role in helping to grow Lyric's corporate partnerships by soliciting your employer or contacts in your network.

FIRST: Check with the LYP Office to ensure that your targeted company has not already been asked for a gift. We have relationships with more than 60 corporate partners and need to ensure a coordinated effort.

SECOND: If you are soliciting your employer, contact your HR department or your supervisor to learn about the company's giving process and culture.

THIRD: Contact the LYP Office to obtain any solicitation materials you might need. We have sponsor opportunities available for the 2017 Halloween Masquerade at the $2,500, $5,000, $10,000, and $25,000 levels, and have prepared materials outlining the benefits at each level.

Individual Giving

With the new LYP membership tiers in place it's easier than ever to expand your involvement and giving with Lyric. LYPs have a rare opportunity to unlock benefits beyond the average donor. Please consider upgrading your membership to a higher level and/or giving and additional gift in support of the Ryan Opera Center. As an LYP member, any cumulative gift you make beyond $300 gains you access to not only to benefits at the LYP Associate level but also benefits associated with Lyric's giving levels.

Matching Gifts

Did you know that many companies offer a matching gift program to encourage philanthropy among their employees? Matching gifts provide an easy way to potentially double, if not triple, your original donation to Lyric Opera of Chicago! Simply contact your supervisor or HR department to see if you qualify to upgrade to a higher LYP membership level or tap into Lyric's giving levels at no additional cost to you!

In-Kind Donations

Do you have any connections with local businesses? We need your help!
We are in need of small bite donations for our upcoming Halloween Masquerade event on October 27, 2017.

If you have connections with location caterers, restaurants, bakeries, etc. who you think might be interested in donating to our event please contact Andrea Rubens, LYP Coordinator, at lyricyp@lyricopera.org. We ask that you kindly refrain from directly contacting your connections until a member of the LYP office has followed up with you regarding next steps. We are happy to customize a benefits package for the company in exchange for their donation including visibility and exposure at the event.
