Lyric Family Favorites: December 17

Joy is in the air this time of year — and at the Lyric Opera House there’s no exception. With the twinkly lights hung along the colonnade and great opera to look forward to in the new year, there’s a festive feeling all around. In the spirit of the season, we share a warm rendition of the holiday favorite “Deck the Halls” from Ryan Opera Center Ensemble members Mathilda Edge (soprano), Katherine DeYoung (mezzo-soprano), Martin Luther Clark (tenor), and Rivers Hawkins (bass) with Chris Reynolds on piano, and wish you a very happy holiday season.

Plus, watch soprano Tamara Wilson perform Verdi's “O nel fuggente nuvolo” as we anticipate her performance in the newly-announced Verdi Voices concert this coming February, hear from composer Missy Mazzoli and librettist Royce Vavrek about their opera Proving Up, spread some virtual holiday cheer, de-code the opera Fire Shut Up in My Bones with composer Terence Blanchard, and get to know Tosca conductor Eun Sun Kim.
