Lyric Family Favorites: August 19
Part of what makes a great opera production so mesmerizing is the sets and costumes that take the audience to a specific time and place. With Verdi’s Ernani, we are transported to a royal castle in Spain, in the year 1519. The towering walls of the set and period costumes for this show were designed by Lyric’s own Scott Marr, who has been making magic happen behind the scenes at Lyric since 1990. Peek behind the curtain to see what goes into staging a show like Ernani in this fascinating feature.
Plus, hear from renowned director Barrie Kosky about his acclaimed production of Fiddler on the Roof, watch tenor Russell Thomas perform "O inferno…Sento avvampar nell’anima" from Simon Boccanegra, look behind the scenes at the technical rehearsal for Le Comte Ory, and see how you can win a prize at Sunday in the Park with Lyric.
