Tomorrow is World Theatre Day, and we’re celebrating the “Jewel of Chicago” that Lyric calls home. From its opening nearly a century ago, the Lyric Opera House has hosted a wide variety of performances, events, and presentations that have thrilled audiences and made history. In addition to the extraordinary opera performances Lyric has produced, the opera house has hosted performances by world-famous artists from Itzhak Perlman to Jimi Hendrix.
