Just over two weeks ago we had the pleasure of experiencing a virtual cabaret with some of the biggest Broadway stars. For those of us who have sorely missed the thrill of live musical theater, The New Classics: Songs from the New Golden Age of Musical Theater was like a breath of fresh air. One of the highlights was Norm Lewis’s performance of the stirring soliloquy “Stars” from the hit musical Les Misérables, in which the implacable, self-righteous Javert asserts that just as surely as the stars keep watch at night, he will stop at nothing to find Valjean. It’s been so exciting to discover the many live-performance recordings released from Lyric’s archives through the Lyric Audio Streaming project, and we’re thrilled to share the last batch of the season. Starting tomorrow, listen to performance recordings of Lyric's Nabucco, Norma, La traviata, and The Barber of Seville.
