Lyric Family Favorites: April 16

Puccini’s song “Sole e amore,” which provided the title for Lyric’s recent virtual concert, contains such a beautiful and lyrical tune that eight years later, Puccini adapted it into the music shared by Mimì and Rodolfo in La bohème. We hope you can take a moment this weekend to hear the roots of one of opera's most famed melodies in this gorgeous song, sung by Ryan Opera Center Ensemble mezzo-soprano Katherine DeYoung.

Plus, watch Ryan Opera Center Ensemble members David Weigel and Chris Reynolds perform in a Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concerts program presented by the International Music Foundation, step into the world of Ryan Opera Center alumna J’Nai Bridges with San Francisco Opera’s “In Song,” and find more opera to watch next week with our weekly streaming guide.
