Lyric Family Favorites: April 23
When Lyric’s opening night gala went virtual last fall, we knew it had to be something special. While lighting and decor helped set the scene for an elegant event, what made it truly memorable were the outstanding performances. We certainly won’t forget when soprano Ailyn Pérez sang "Chi il bel sogno di Doretta" from La rondine, sending those glorious high notes soaring past the golden chandeliers. It’s hard not to feel a little glamorous just watching this clip.
Plus, tune in for a virtual concert honoring the life of Daniel Catán, composer of Florencia en el Amazonas, celebrate Shakepeare’s birthday by reading up on operas inspired by his work, check out our weekly streaming blog, and listen to a full Lyric performance of Rigoletto.
