Lyric Music & More: February 16
There’s nothing quite like the driving percussive rhythms of “El Cumbanchero” (“The Fun-Lover”) to shake off the winter blues, especially during Mardi Gras week! Ryan Opera Center Music Director Craig Terry’s arrangement of the song by Rafael Hernández Marín capped off Pasión Latina with a “nearly explosive finale” (Chicago Tribune). It’s just the thing to get you moving and grooving, even on a chilly, snowy day. Once you’ve seen this clip, you’ll want to dive in and watch Pasión Latina in its entirety, streaming free on Lyric’s YouTube and Facebook channels.
Plus, hear from the stars of Sole e Amore about their experience singing with Music Director Designate Enrique Mazzola at the piano, dive into Gospel music with WFMT host and Lyric Unlimited Coordinator LaRob Payton, see what Lyric is offering for students, and stream our video documentary, Creating The Factotum.
