All of us at Lyric are so excited to be welcoming audiences back to live performances at the Lyric Opera House since the opening of Macbeth last week! The excitement in the audience was palpable as Sir David McVicar's new production made its premiere.
Sondra Radvanovsky, a Lyric favorite, made her role debut as Lady Macbeth, and was praised for "a performance by an artist in command of her full powers" (Chicago Sun-Times). Before the show, she sat down with her colleague Christian Van Horn, who sings the role of Banco, to talk about how she prepares for this incredibly demanding role.
